Fatherhood Institute Resources

The Fatherhood Institute aims to give all children a strong and positive relationship with their father and father-figures.

The Fatherhood Institute collates and publishes research, lobbies for legal and policy changes, helps public services, employers and others to become more father-inclusive, and works directly with families. They have produced an FAQ page which aims to attempt to answer questions related to being a dad in prison. The Fatherhood Institute and MenCare have launched a range of practical resources to help health, education and social care professionals, policy makers and designers, researchers and evaluators across the world work in ways that embrace and build on fathers' impact on child outcomes. Fathers' impact is significant in vulnerable families, so the resources are especially pertinent to use in prisons and other services for offenders and their families.  In addition they have listed a number of case studies around Dads in Prison; Safe Ground's Family Man courses at Belmarsh Prison.  Innovative provision for imprisoned Dads and their Families and a  Parenting Programme for young imprisoned Dads.

There is also an article about Fathers' Story Week which helps dads in prison reach out to their children.
