Invisible Walls is a Community Interest Company based in Bridgend, South Wales. We provide family support services across South Wales, West Midlands and the East of England.
Our services include:
- Prison Visitor Centres - we operate visitor centres in HMPs Parc, Cardiff, Usk, Prescoed in Wales and HMPs Bedford, Littlehey, Five Wells and Oakwood in Wolverhampton. Our staff aim to make the experience of visiting a prison as positive and supportive as possible. They are friendly and welcoming, taking time to explain what to expect, answer questions and help families feel more comfortable and prepared throughout the visit. Our teams are also there to support you before and after your visit. We offer advice, guidance and information, and can connect you with a range of organisations for ongoing support. We also run Family Forums in partnership with prisons, giving families the chance to share feedback and help shape the service. Additionally we deliver family day events in prisons and family group interventions, as a well as interventions for those without family contact
- School Zone (established 2014) - funded by The National Lottery, we provide trauma responsive practitioners to work with children and young people affected by parental imprisonment to ensure these children are understood, supported, and able to thrive. Through tailored support, school partnerships, and specialist training, School Zone reduces stigma, builds resilience, and creates inclusive environments where no child feels invisible.
- Training - we provide bespoke training to school staff and other professionals on the effects of parental imprisonment on children. Schools are then invited to nominate a ‘Champion’ as a named person that children can speak to regarding any concerns they may have.
