NEPACS operates across the North East of England offering services to prisoners and their friends or families . They support families in maintaining contact, support in visiting a loved one, provide a listening ear, offer support and activities for children and parents, facilitate special visits for families and provide integrated family support for prisoners and families. Nepacs also provides training and support for professionals working with children and families of offenders and prisoners (Including Hidden Sentence training).
Support at court (Durham, Newcastle and Teesside Crown Courts): Volunteers run this support service to comfort and provide information to families who support a loved one facing a custodial sentence. Continued support is also available through a telephone befriending service.
Prison Visitors Centres: Offer refreshments, a warm welcome, play facilities and activities, support with child centred visits, support for young people and children, information, someone to listen and booking support.
Integrated Family Support Service: Is run in prisons and in the community alongside Northumbria CRC in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear to support prisoners with family concerns and work with the family and children on the outside.
Youth project: Nepacs provides a youth project across the north east to support children age 8-17 years with a relative in a north east prison
