Spurgeons Children's Charity

Spurgeons Children's Charity run the Visitors' Centres for 12 Prisons.

They offer a warm welcoming environment, and practical advice and support to those visiting loved ones in prison. Supervised play sessions and refreshment services are offered in the Visits Halls, and Family Days are run regularly in each prison, focusing on child-friendly creative, sports or musical activities which can help strengthen the family relationship. Visitors' Centre staff offer a family support service to those visiting the prison, with an emphasis on identifying and working with families with complex needs and ensuring families are linked into local support agencies as much as possible. Staff ensure that the children in the family are listened to and their needs taken into account in any support that is offered. Spurgeons currently runs the Visitors' Centres at the following establishments Bure, Elmley, Feltham, Ford, Lewes, Maidstone, Norwich, Stanford Hill, Swaleside, Rochester, Wayland and Winchester:
