194. Barnardo's NICCO: Assisting professionals to work with children and families of people convicted of sex offences
This document contains a poster and two page briefing about the children and families of sex offenders and how NICCO can assist professionals to support them. The briefing was written in partnership with the Lucy Faithfull Foundation, the only UK-wide child protection charity dedicated solely to preventing child sexual abuse. The Clear Lessons Foundation have published a series of seven video clips by Polly Wright the Barnardo's i-HOP (now NICCO) and Children Affected by Parental Offending Service Manager. In them Polly describes issues around the support needed for children affected by parental imprisonment and what is being done to meet their needs. The Prison Advice and Care Trust (Pact) have hosted a YouTube channel showing a selection of short films on many aspects of supporting prisoners and their families.
